Bidfood’s new logistics hub

Panattoni will develop a modern warehouse facility for Bidfood in Łódź. The investment will be built using the build-to-own (BTO) formula and will serve as a central distribution warehouse for the HoReCa operator.

Bidfood is a nationwide distributor of food and services for the HoReCa sector, cooperating with over 17,000 establishments, food service chains, restaurants, and hotels. The distributor’s offering includes approximately 7,000 products, including meat, fish and seafood, vegetables and fruit, dairy products, bakery products, desserts, beverages, wine, packaging, and household chemicals. The company already has an extensive logistics network spanning 26 warehouse locations across Poland, and the new investment in Łódź will be its first central distribution warehouse and a key element in further streamlining its supply chain. The new facility will ultimately have approximately 26,000 square meters of space.

“The project for Bidfood is an example of a tailor-made investment, where close collaboration with the client plays a key role from the concept stage. This allows us to deliver a facility that fully meets the specific needs of the food industry, which requires both advanced technologies and high operational efficiency,” says Katarzyna Kujawiak, Regional Managing Director Central Poland & Greater Poland at Panattoni.

The facility will be equipped with advanced solutions tailored to food distribution, including refrigerated and frozen storage areas. The design also includes solutions to increase energy efficiency, such as a photovoltaic installation and heat recovery systems. The entire facility will be designed with optimizing logistics processes and ensuring the highest operational standards in mind.

“The new distribution center in Łódź will be a key element of our logistics infrastructure in Poland. We are focusing on solutions that will allow us to increase efficiency, optimize the supply chain, and even better meet the needs of our customers in the food service industry,” says Sławomir Żegleń, Investment Manager at Bidfood.

A key advantage of the investment is its location – directly next to the A1 motorway junction, within the administrative boundaries of Łódź. Situated in a developed industrial zone, yet close to public transportation, it will ensure efficient logistics services and convenient access for employees.

This new investment is consistent with the expansion of Panattoni’s partnership with Bidfood in Poland. The operator already occupies space in ten of the developer’s facilities across Poland, including in Gdańsk, Białystok, and Lublin. Under the latest contract, the tenant began operations at Panattoni Park Szczecin V, where it handles distribution and warehousing of food products, including refrigerated and frozen storage.
